Barb Geiger was raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where she spent the summers around bikes and boats and the winters wearing green and gold. She developed a love of water from her dad, a passion for service from her mom, and survival skills from growing up with two brothers. She attributes her eternal optimism to remaining a Packers fan through the 70’s and 80’s.
After retiring from her teaching career, Barb kayaked with her husband from the headwaters of the Mississippi River to the Gulf of Mexico in the tandem kayak they built, volunteering with charities in small towns along the way. Their experiences led to Barb’s first book, Paddle for a Purpose, first place winner of the 2019 PenCraft Award for Literary Excellence.
Barb lives in Waukesha, Wisconsin, with her husband, Gene, and their chinchilla, Raji. Building memories with family and friends is one of Barb’s greatest joys. Her hobbies include reading, playing her flute, and spending time outdoors. Barb can often be seen riding the trails on her bicycle, Gracie, or around town in her convertible, Joy.
